What do you enjoy most about being a diabetic:
The reaction I get from people when I tell them I have juvenile diabetes. They usually say I don’t look like a diabetic. This then gives me the opportunity to discuss with them that diabetes doesn’t keep me or any other diabetic from living an A1Ctive and healthy lifestyle.

Most memorable event per or post diagnosis, sporting or personal:
Phil Southerland helping me gain better control of my diabetes and seeing direct results in my life and cycling. This spurred The Team Type 1 concept of showing other diabetics they can succeed at any task whether it be in better control of glucose levels or competing at the top level of any sport.

Give us a few words of wisdom, some personal advice…
Almost all diabetics struggle with acceptance, willingness, or want to control their diabetes. This is normal, how you overcome these struggles is what is important. Coming to the realization that diabetes is very manageable and it is something you have to do to succeed in all aspects of life. Life is much more enjoyable when you have control of this very disease. (I speak for experience)
